Director: Amalia Ulman
Argentina / United States, 2025, 93 min, DCP

A film crew working for an edgy media company travels to Argentina to profile a local musician, but their ineptitude leads them into the wrong country. As the crew collaborates with locals to fabricate a trend, unexpected connections blossom while a pervasive health crisis looms unacknowledged in the background.

Argentine-Spanish artist and filmmaker Amalia Ulman continues to hone her wry, unsparing comic sensibility in this fresh-faced ensemble comedy of Americans abroad. Set loose in rural Argentina, a ne'er-do-well team of gonzo journalists (Chloe Sevigny, Alex Wolff, Joe Apollonio and Ulman) pursue a dead-end lead on a viral video star while mingling with the locals in increasingly absurd situations. Ever attuned to the grift of cultural exports, Ulman’s loose and sexy romp at times feels like a bizarre romantic comedy, with furtive hookups and anarchic GoPro flights of fancy that resemble skateboarding videos–but key to its charming, semi-improvised feel is its ensemble cast, including newcomer Camila del Campo as a lusty, criminally bored local looking to get off.
